My husband is a graduate and a quitter

YAY!! Scott took the last part of his CPA exam today, he thinks he passed, AND he quit his job at Mayo and will begin at KPMG on the 18th. Oh, AND He graduates officially on Friday even though his last class was on Saturday.

I am amazed at the Lord's faithfulness through his schooling, testing and jobs. Most of you know that we want for me to stay home when we decide to have children, and I am thankful for a husband who WANTS this (meaning, Im not forcing him) and who looks forward to working, knowing it provides for his family. But the Lord only has sustained him during this, our first two years of marriage, time of him being in school. SO, for all of you who told us to wait until he was finished, HAHAHA! We made it!!

It is weird for both of us for him to not be studying, writing a paper, whatever. Tonight, at 8, we almost went to different rooms just becuase it has been our routine since that has been his study-time. I am thankful for the time I will have to spend with my hubby. Pray we dont kill each other.

Thanks for the prayers on his behalf!!

Week 1: Weigh-In results

So, I lost 1.8 lb my first week. Not as much as I was hoping for, but considering the Dick's wings and later a hot-fudge Sundae (Hey! It was in my points, thank you!), I am not too surprised it isnt more. But that is a HEALTHY weight loss, which is what's important. Thanks everyone for your encouragement this week.

We FINALLY got ALL of Rigby's nails clipped. This was after much blood, sweat and hair all over the place. We struggled with her (an understatement) to get the front ones done, and then I did her back ones while she was asleep (and kicked myself for not thinking of this sooner). FYI: If you cut the dogs toenail's to the quick and it bleeds, dip their paw in flour. :)

Also, I made a cool necklace and bracelet out of these big pearls strung onto ribbon. It was very difficult to get the ribbon through the hole, and I was pround that I found a way to do it. Thanks, google!

I was thankful for Jason's message on Sunday, and convicted of my fight to control everything rather than to leave it to Christ to accomplish everything for HIS will, not mine. I am thankful for our church, as the people are great to live out the gospel with. And I am thankful that nothing I can do can accomplish salvation, mine or others, and that it is an act of God.

BIG NEWS: Scott is graduating Friday!! YAY!! I dont know what it will be like to actually SEE him during weeknights on a regular basis, and I am looking forward to it. And PRAY as he takes the last part of his CPA exam on Tuesday AM.

Also, pray for our pastor, Shane, who is having some medical concerns while in Rocky Mount, NC. Pray the doctors would work quickly and that Shane will not be stressed, as he has lots of work to do for his class before he comes back on Friday/Saturday.

Have a great day!!

T-A-I-N-T-E-D with a capital...everything

So this has been a great week. I have remained in my "points" (Thats weight-watcher lingo for your allotted food for a day, everything has a point value) every day. And I even went out to eat a couple times AND had a brownie. Yes, a brownie. Actually, Im not sure about yesterday since we had Dick's wings for dinner, but there are 32 extra weekly points that I never count in so I feel okay. I am looking forward to weighing in on Monday AM. So STAY TUNED for my first week's results.

Rigby is a beast, thats all I have to say about that.

I have been thankful for the fellowship I have been able to have during this summer. I really feel like I am connecting with the women in my church, and I am so thankful for their desire to be Christ-like amidst circumstances that would promote otherwise. As a women who is TAINTED but trying to be faithful, it is encouraging to see women pray for the Lord's joy rather than their own wants or needs. Muchos Gracias to Lisa who sent me the below verses this week that has been so needed and applicable to the struggles of many of the women I care about, from family to friends. I, too, had a mental breakdown this week over my dog's toenails and my inability to clip them. I was deeply reminded that it is completely irrational to cry over that when there have been miscarriages, houses burning down, and family struggles among people I care for, all happening this week. However, I am also reminded of God's goodness and that he is sovereign...even over toenails.

Here are some people I am thankful for this week: Amanda (who is crazy like me), Denise who prays for joy, Dinah who is tainted like me, Kayla who is a great sister, Cat who is the best ever, my mother-in-law who is a women desiring the Lord's joy and will for her children, my mom who is indescribably submissive and just, geez, amazing, and my husband who comforts me when I think I might die becuase Rigby's toenails are scratching me to pieces.

This is my prayer for these women:

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;
his understanding is unsearchable.
He gives power to the faint,
and to him who has no might he increases strength.
Isaiah 40:28-29

Man, those are good verses. Hallelujah for the blood of the lamb that was slain.

My first blog...

...with the exception of the awesome livejournal I had in high school (lame) this is my fist blog...how exciting!

So I am mainly using this to countdown my 30-lb weight loss. Today is the first day, and with all my sponsors, I am actually feeling motivated this time. But I also want to post the jewelry I make on here, as I get excited when I make something new, and feel the need to share it with everyone.

In other news...we got a new mattress this weekend. Praise the Lord for his goodness! Sleeping is going much better and its a King bed, so now Scott and I feel like real-life grown-ups. And Rigby can't jump on it becuase it is too high, but I wonder how long that will last.

Okay thats it for now... just trying this thing out...
